“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
This means they bill the insurance company directly. You don't pay thousands upfront and wait to be reimbursed.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
The FTC Funeral Rule protects you. Every funeral home must provide an itemized General Price List if you ask — in person or over the phone. You are never required to buy a package and can choose services individually. You also have the right to use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“I contracted with Gainesville Marble and Granite. In October of 2025. To redo the boundaries brick walls around my family plot at Wahoo Baptist Church. I paid a significant deposit. Over $2800. To get the job started. The contract called for the job to be completed by November 1, 2025. I continued to ask about progress. And there was no progress. They had begun to move remove some of the existing brick wall around our family plot. But never completed it. And this was in December. The quote for removing the brick. Was a total of $724. In November, I received another Demand for an additional $1700 to continue the job. I was very displeased with the entire process. Not only did they not do the job that I had paid them to do, which was over $10,000. But now demanding additional funds. When they had not even completed removing the brick. I found them to be liars, Difficult to deal with. Their lack of communication was astounding. And I had to hire another company because the church was upset with having so much debris in the graveyard site. Which costs an additional $1700 over the quote that Gainesville marble. And Granite had quoted. Because I needed the job done as soon as possible. I again gave Gainesville marble and granite. An opportunity to do a couple of things that they had quoted. That being finish removing the wall and the brick from the site and cleaning the headstones. I also gave them deadlines because weather was getting worse. This is in North Georgia. And the church again, was upset about the mess in the graveyard. So I gave him one deadline to complete the job. Weather was excellent. And he did not do it. And then I gave him another deadline to complete the job and he did not do it. I finally fired them and had another firm. Finish all the work. And now they still owe me $2800 because they didn't really do anything. I find them to be fraudulent, liars, And really don't care. Sister of the guy that I spoke to Ti Indicated they had kicked. The general I spoke to. By the name of Chip out of the company because he was doing side work. And really, I don't care. He obviously was not doing my work and all I got was lies and more lies I would never recommend this company to do anything. This is our family grave site and very important to us. ALL this company wanted was money. Altogether, including the $2836 cash deposits, the 2 addition trips to the area (I live 6 hour round trip from the church) along with the significant cost over what Gainesville Marble quoted (I was forced to get the job done - both for weather and the brick was that was removed - the soil was eroding into the old footings - I am out over $4,700. I have texts, emails, etc to support exactly what is stated above”
