You're not expected to know this. These questions help you compare and avoid surprises.
“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
This means they bill the insurance company directly. You don't pay thousands upfront and wait to be reimbursed.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
The FTC Funeral Rule protects you. Every funeral home must provide an itemized General Price List if you ask — in person or over the phone. You are never required to buy a package and can choose services individually. You also have the right to use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“I understand that the economy is currently experiencing some difficulties. Please, if you believe your loved one deserves to be laid to rest with any dignity, this is not the place. It has been over a year, and after repeated calls, we have yet to obtain paid death certificates. The tombstone firm had tried multiple times to bring the stone, but there was no flag to indicate where my sister was buried. We were able to identify the spot thanks to images taken the day we buried her. The foundation was never laid, and that was the funeral home's responsibility. The tombstone firm had no choice but to place it on the ground with no foundation beneath. We called David several times, but all he does is make bogus promises and give us the runaround. My father was also buried here in 2013, his headstone had fallen over a little before my sister's death, and nothing has been done on Boyko's behalf. The cemetery is in disarray and unfortunately, is beginning to resemble a circus. I would never recommend this place to anyone.”

“My brother passed in June of 2025, during the service the female employee of the funeral home was extremely rude and the owner was just as rude! Starting off there were no microphone provided during the viewing as I was told “we have no batteries, so none are available” after seeing the priest use one me and my family were very confused as to why the microphone was only subjected to the priest. Secondly my brother was a olive toned brown skin man, the makeup that was applied to him seem to be a one color fits all for African Americans because he was DARK, with bright pink lipstick that was crusted to his lips! Presentation was unforgettable horrible, it made me wonder if they really handled him with care because he was really a good brother, and a sweet person and would’ve treated ANYONE WELL! Lastly it’s now February of 2026 and my mother hasn’t received my brothers death certificate in the mail, we have reached out numerous times and the owner only gives a a short answer with his miserable attitude. I hope the owners and employees of this facility never have to face such disappointment and disrespect while laying their loved one to rest and grieving . We will all face god one day.”

“This place is joke. I do not understand how they are still in business after all the reviews which I wish I was aware of prior to doing business with them. I still have not received my mother’s death certificate she passed away 2 months ago. When I picked up the remains. There were ashes all over the urns they hadn’t cleaned up properly. They do no return calls you have to constantly be on top of them. They lie and make appointments and then aren’t there when you go in to see them. They take no accountability. I ordered 5 death certificates. David himself told me he has 2 out of 5 ready which. I still haven’t been able to pick up despite going to the funeral home at a time he initially told me to meet him there. I will be escalating the issues because he’s taking full advantage of people on there most vulnerable state and it’s beyond sad.”
