You're not expected to know this. These questions help you compare and avoid surprises.
“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
This means they bill the insurance company directly. You don't pay thousands upfront and wait to be reimbursed.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
The FTC Funeral Rule protects you. Every funeral home must provide an itemized General Price List if you ask — in person or over the phone. You are never required to buy a package and can choose services individually. You also have the right to use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“Usually do not review but this one is a must. At first my family (Gallegos), arrived to hire their services, they were nice and understanding to my family's situation. Everything was running smoothly until 2 days before my father Javier Gallegos’ funeral. They had not contacted me regarding me sending his pictures and songs until 2 days prior when I went to make the final payment, but that was not the worst part. The day of the funeral, just when we were about to transport my father to the cemetery, they realized the burial permit had the wrong location, so we did not get to bury him on that Saturday. We were told that it will get fixed early Monday morning, and after me calling and pressuring they finally got the correct permit late afternoon on that Monday, so we did not get to bury my father until mid-day Tuesday. We had family from Texas, Mexico, California, Oklahoma for this and as you can imagine they left upset and in a lot of pain. We contacted the manager, Will to get this resolved and they did nothing. They only said that they did their part, but the process from this company was pure incompetence. Requested to have a meeting with the owner and was told she does not live here, and they will get back to me. This was back in July, we are in October, and no resolution has been made. DO NOT RECOMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL, BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE, NO ACCOUNTABILITY AND LACK OF COMMUNICATION WITHIN THEMSELVES AND TO OTHER BUSINESSES.”

“nexpected deaths and funding is a hardship. William Is full of knowledge he was able to help answer every question we had that last person we spoke to before casa de Paz said 19,000.00 for what casa de Paz was able to do for a fraction of the price. I do leave 4 stars not for the staff in office but the lady who seemed to be trying her best when we called for pricing and ended up getting the wrong price given and then we got it corrected it just made the start stressful after hearing 19,000.00 for flying home a family member. It’s crazy how much things are costing but our family never will ever forget the saving grace William was to my wife’s family as well as the sweet young lady who greeted us as if we walked into a family home not a business. Wow this place is a hidden gem sadly a place for death and to hold funerals. It’s worth reaching out to as things have changed price wise since e used a funeral home last. Thanks a million William and staff services where perfect our family member looked as if they had been sleeping even the grandkids felt comfortable saying goodbye thanks for making tough times a little easier to deal with. And boy does the building look different they remodeled and it’s gorgeous I hope not to have to review a funeral home again any time soon.”
