“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
This means they bill the insurance company directly. You don't pay thousands upfront and wait to be reimbursed.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
The FTC Funeral Rule protects you. Every funeral home must provide an itemized General Price List if you ask — in person or over the phone. You are never required to buy a package and can choose services individually. You also have the right to use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“Haven Memorial Funeral Home gave my family and me an unforgettable experience during one of the hardest moments of our lives. Mr. Gibson went above and beyond to honor my mother’s memory and make her service absolutely extraordinary. His attention to detail was unmatched, and it was clear from the very beginning that he truly cared. For the viewing, Mr. Gibson made sure everything reflected my mother’s personality and the things she loved most. He thoughtfully included touches that represented her — football decorations, reminders of her love for the Hallmark Channel, and even her favorite wine. The atmosphere was warm and comforting, filled with her favorite music and a beautiful video presentation of her life and photos. There were even snacks available for guests, which made everyone feel welcomed and at ease. Before the viewing began, Mr. Gibson took the time to give me a private moment with my mother. That gesture meant so much to me because it allowed me to gather myself and be emotionally ready to console others. It was a small but powerful act of kindness that I will never forget. My mother looked absolutely amazing. She was dressed with the care of a professional hairstylist and a personal attendant who made sure every detail was perfect. The presentation reflected her elegance and beauty, and it was clear that Mr. Gibson made sure she was shown the love and respect she deserved. We also chose to have the repass — or as Mr. Gibson beautifully called it, the Celebration Dinner — at the funeral home. He arranged for a talented chef to prepare all of my mother’s favorite foods, including oxtails, fish, and étouffée. There were several food stations set up so everyone could taste a little bit of everything. It felt less like a somber occasion and more like a loving celebration of her life, just the way she would have wanted. Mr. Gibson and his daughter are some of the kindest, most professional people I have ever met. They treated my family with respect, compassion, and genuine understanding from start to finish. Every step of the process — from purchasing the plot and casket to designing the programs — was handled with patience and care. Mr. Gibson even called to check on us afterward, making sure we had the support we needed in the days that followed. Losing a loved one is never easy, but having the right people by your side makes all the difference. Mr. Gibson and the Haven Memorial Funeral Home staff turned a painful time into a heartfelt celebration filled with love and memories. If you want to be treated as a person who is grieving and not just another customer, this is absolutely the funeral service to choose. I can say with full confidence that you will not regret trusting them with your loved one’s final arrangements.”

“I recommend this place 10000000000000%. Where do I even begin… Mr. Gibson truly has a love and passion for helping families prepare to lay their loved ones to rest and celebrate their lives with dignity. What I love most about Haven Memorial is that it’s a beautiful place, inside and out. Everything they do feels personal. They take the time to build a real connection with you, they make you feel welcomed, and they patiently listen to everything you want. Then they step in and make sure they provide the best customer service possible. Mr. Gibson is incredibly knowledgeable about every part of the process and is very hands-on. This was our first time having to bury someone so close to us, and Mr. Gibson made himself available every step of the way. He explained everything — from the types of caskets to the obituary options — and the person who did my dad’s makeup had him looking just like himself. That brought us so much comfort. Mr. Gibson went the extra mile to make sure our family was taken care of. I love all the touches he’s added at Haven — the coffee bar, the “lunch with loved ones,” the different rooms, and the shadow boxes tailored to the things our loved one enjoyed. These details mean so much when you’re grieving. Please, please give Haven Memorial a chance. You will be beyond satisfied, and you’ll want to share your experience with everyone you know. I absolutely love this place and how Mr. Gibson went above and beyond for my family. He is a selfless, blessed man, and I thank God that we crossed his path and were able to have my dad’s celebration of life through Haven Memorial Funeral Home.”

“When my father passed away bit suddenly, I didn’t know where to begin. Mark Gibson did not hesitate to give me a tour of Haven Memorial, driving me there when I didn’t have a car. He really made an overwhelmingly hard occasion, less difficult to manage. Haven Memorial is designed for you to be able to grieve and heal, and relax a bit while handling the business of a funeral or memorial process. I would highly recommend Haven Memorial. They consider your loved ones highly and go above and beyond to make sure this transition is also filled with lots of love.”
