You're not expected to know this. These questions help you compare and avoid surprises.
“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
This means they bill the insurance company directly. You don't pay thousands upfront and wait to be reimbursed.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
The FTC Funeral Rule protects you. Every funeral home must provide an itemized General Price List if you ask — in person or over the phone. You are never required to buy a package and can choose services individually. You also have the right to use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“Mowell Funeral Home & Cremation Service is truly a "Hidden Gem in Peachtree City, GA" and an "Answer from God at one of your most vulnerable times".🙌🏾 My father passed the last week of January 2026. Our family agreed upon Mowell Funeral Home & Cremation Service after looking at other places based on our Google search. When my sisters, my sons and I entered the building to sign the paperwork only hours after our daddy/granddad had transitioned. The building was under construction on the inside and yet you felt so much peace. We were greeted by such a warm and friendly man who apologized for the mess of renovations and his name was Todd Sinkus. Todd gently escorted us into a very nice conference room. As we sat down down he pleasantly offered water or drinks and then he got them from another room. Todd was truly a gift from God, on one of the toughest days of a child's life to make plans for their deceased parent. Todd took time with us going into details, allowing questions and concerns and he responded to them all. There was no question he did not answer or tried to evade. Although the moment was extremely serious, the peaceful atmosphere put us at ease, we were relaxed, we joked, we laughed, we were serious and in the midst of this so was Todd... he was truly what our family needed at each moment and he even joined in. It was a God ordained meeting. Todd went through the paperwork in such away it left no room for questions. We signed the paperwork. He escorted us to the front door. Once again gave his condolences and reminded us to give them a call if we needed anything. As we walked to our cars... we all felt like we made the best choice for our daddy/granddad and God truly led us. Now the icing on the cake was as we passed the side door it opened up and a young woman came rushing out... she wanted to make sure she met my older sister face to face to give her condolences since they had been communicating over the phone. Her name was Lexi. You can't manufacture sincere love, concern, and just caring about people. Lexi demonstrated that to all of us as she spoke to each of us individually as she gave her condolences and reminded us to give her a call if we needed anything. I know Mowell Funeral Home & Cremation Service is not in this business like some places for the money or the status... but I truly can say from my experience that they are doing this as a ministry for hurting families in need of final preparations for their loved ones. No man knows the time or hour... but when your loved one comes... I highly recommend you bring your loved ones to Mowell Funeral Home & Cremation Service, a place that will take exceptional loving care of your loved one, of your family and will give you peace of mind, that will confirm you made the best choice. 🙏🏾✝️🕊❤️💐”
