I am so happy they opened a location in Capitol Hill because they are the only funeral home in the state that treats the Hispanic community like family. Other funeral homes just take advantage of Hispanic families and overcharge them for every little thing, but NOT the staff at John Ireland Funeral Home. My Catholic priest recommends all families use John and I have recommended so many friends and family members to use the new location on Western. It feels like home when you are in the chapel for a visitation, or a service with all the couches and chairs that line the walls. They have a very professional Spanish speaking staff. Salma and Oscar were great to work with. They let my friend's family use the facilities like it was their own home. We brought in so much food and drinks and Mr. Ireland even brought us a bunch of pastries and bread from La Oaxaquena Bakery off of 29th St. I would give them a 100 star rating if I could! “Why are you setting off fireworks in your parking lot. The location is on S Western. This is very unprofessional for a funeral home. They were out until 2am last night, starting again. They have thrown fireworks at passing cars. They have also thrown fireworks on the roof of the taco shop next door.”

“would’ve given zero stars if that was an option. very unprofessional, arrived at our funeral site and nothing was set up for us, the vault showed up an hour and a half late after the funeral started, and we confirmed the arrival time the night before. driver arrived with our loved one 10 minutes before the funeral began and made jokes saying “sorry for being late I never have my phone on me”. when trying to communicate with the secretary that morning she could give us zero information about where our loved one was and then when we talked to a second person about all the issues going on we were hung up on. I would absolutely NEVER recommend this place and would advise anyone to go with a different business as this one made our day more stressful and couldn’t even manage to show up on time let alone communicate with us.”
