“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
This means they bill the insurance company directly. You don't pay thousands upfront and wait to be reimbursed.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
The FTC Funeral Rule protects you. Every funeral home must provide an itemized General Price List if you ask — in person or over the phone. You are never required to buy a package and can choose services individually. You also have the right to use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“Wright Funeral Home handled the service for my cousin and they did an excellent job as usual. The care and compassion that was shown was wonderful. They have provided service for us in the past and I highly recommend them for their professionalism.”
— Michael Henderson
“This Funeral home was disrespectful and rude to all family members;as well as other attendees whom came to pay their respects. This home had more than enough space to follow Covid regulations. They did not all all family members and attendees to stay five minutes and then go out. They refused to allow us to sign the book properly nor ensure all family to have obituaries. They left us outside without a monitor or social media to at least view the service despite the entire family being there on time! ONLY A WALK THROUGH! We came from Paterson, NJ to attend our relative D'Mario Simes services which his last name was incorrectly throughout the program. As well as misspellings and other grammatical errors. This Funeral home was completely unconcerned. Do not use this home for loves ones Home going. If you want to be treated with Respect and Dignity!”
