“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
This means they bill the insurance company directly. You don't pay thousands upfront and wait to be reimbursed.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
The FTC Funeral Rule protects you. Every funeral home must provide an itemized General Price List if you ask — in person or over the phone. You are never required to buy a package and can choose services individually. You also have the right to use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“We recently had to lay to rest my mother-in-law. They were so nice, professional, caring, accommodating, and not as expensive as other places. I cannot thank them enough for all they had done. I plan to go back to pre plan my arrangements there and so goes my sister.”

“We chose this funeral home after we met with Fred, the Funeral Director, because we immediately felt we were getting a more personal experience. We also liked the fact that it is a Family owned business. Fred, was very friendly and knowledgeable. He took his time, was not rushing us along and had some great suggestions. His Staff was very helpful and friendly too. We provided some pictures and they put together a beautiful presentation, in addition were able to bring pictures of our Beloved Mom and they were placed beautifully around the room. It was very tastefully done and we are sure our mom would have been pleased. Additionally, about a week after our Mom's funeral we received a call from one of their Aftercare Estate specialist, who went over our next steps and answered any questions we had. They were also willing to assist us in this process. In addition, , we were able to speak to professionals regarding any specific questions we had regarding the estate. This was all extremely helpful since we were at a loss as to what we needed to do. It was definitely an added bonus in selecting Manchester Memorial Funeral Home and all has been complimentary.”

“On behalf of my family and friends, I would like to thank Sarah Koutishian for guiding me through the memorial for my mother, Violet. Sarah spoke to me on a personal, compassionate level that made me extremely comfortable. She made sure to provide a warm and loving atmosphere for my mother’s mourners so they could pay their respects and say their final goodbyes. I also appreciate very much how the owner and funeral director, Fred Whiteley, guided me through the painful planning process. He explained the business end of things and asked me the important questions that I would not have come up with on my own. His relaxing demeanor and willingness to put together a special memorial was a huge relief during such difficult days. I would highly recommend Manchester Memorial Funeral Home. Thank you, Diane”
