Heather, who helped guide our family through the entire process, went above and beyond in every possible way. From the very beginning, she treated our little Gavin as if he were her own and quickly became a part of our family. The love, patience, and attention she poured into every detail of his service were truly remarkable. Her team was equally compassionate and professional — every single person handled things with such grace and empathy. The service itself was absolutely beautiful. The horse-drawn carriage was unforgettable, and the chapel and grounds provided the most peaceful, loving setting imaginable for our little Lost Boy. Heather went out of her way to make sure my sister and her husband’s wishes were honored, even when they were nontraditional. She never once hesitated or made anything feel like too much. Instead, she embraced every idea with compassion and made sure everything was done beautifully and respectfully. We will forever be grateful to Heather and everyone at Robert’s for helping us honor Gavin in the most meaningful way. Their kindness brought light and comfort during the darkest time in our lives. “Our poor sister was discovered in her home on a welfare check request; we were heartbroken upon hearing the news. Lucky for us, she was transferred to Roberts by local authorities, as we live out of state and couldn't imagine having to research local funeral homes while still in somewhat a state of shock. Our initial contact with Roberts was met with overwhelming support with offers of heartfelt condolences, which continued with every follow-up phone call with Hunter, et al (wish I had all of their names), "We just want to say again how sorry we are for your loss," which still brings a tear to my eye as write this. When we eventually arrived to pick up her cremains, we were greeted by 2 cats sitting on the front porch, and as cat people, we took it as another sign that we were in the right place. Gretchen, their Family Care Specialist greeted us and described how the 2 cats on the front porch were mother and daughter, in addition to several other cats for whom they provide food and water. Cats know who their friends are. Gretchen was so friendly and kind with ongoing expression of support and encouragement during this difficult time. She made us aware of her notary services we may need in the future, which would be free of charge. She then offered us each lavender roses from a beautiful arrangement, which we used as part of our little ceremony to sprinkle her ashes on her property. What a fitting send-off.
