You're not expected to know this. These questions help you compare and avoid surprises.
“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
This means they bill the insurance company directly. You don't pay thousands upfront and wait to be reimbursed.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
The FTC Funeral Rule protects you. Every funeral home must provide an itemized General Price List if you ask — in person or over the phone. You are never required to buy a package and can choose services individually. You also have the right to use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“From the moment our family walked through their doors, the staff at Skorupski’s showed genuine kindness, patience, and compassion. They treated our loved one with the utmost dignity and care, ensuring every detail was handled with respect and professionalism. Throughout the entire process, from planning to the service itself, the team made sure our family’s needs were met and our wishes honored. They guided us gently through difficult decisions, always taking the time to listen and support us. After the funeral, they continued to check in to see how we were doing, which meant more to us than words can express. Losing someone you love is never easy, but Skorupski’s helped bring comfort and peace during a very painful time. We are deeply grateful for their compassion, attention to detail, and heartfelt care.”

“INCREDIBLE experience which started on the tough day my Mom Passed. Went there expecting to be sold things and NEVER once did that happen! They listened to what we were looking for and helped us put together exactly that! So many things were included in the services and not extra charges. The staff was so kind and helpful and made a sad set of days a little brighter. Beautiful funeral home with class all over! Just can’t say enough about Peggy who worked with us on anything we needed! They show they cared about us first and not what they could charge us! The stationary used was so cheerful and bright and all the thank yous were even sent out for us by them after we filled them out. Beautiful memory blanket given to us by them that my Dad loved! Just so many wonderful things to say!! If I could more stars I would!! Thank you from the bottom of my families heart for making this tough experience a little easier! Jeff Armbruster”

“This was the first time we attened a service here and I have to say, The Place is Beautiful! They really did a great job, from furnishing to decor. Definately gives the other places Ive seen a run for the $$. Not to mention, the care they took in making sure the program went smoothly. From the sound system to the set up. Eveything was just honorable for the dearly departed. You all do a Fantastic Job.”
