Questions to Ask When You Call
You're not expected to know this. These questions help you compare and avoid surprises.
“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
Ask whether assignment is available for your policy and location, what fees apply, and what you must pay upfront. MedaSynq does not arrange assignments.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
“Do you offer payment plans?”
Many funeral homes allow you to spread the cost over time. Ask about down payments, terms, and financing options.
Know Your Rights
Under the FTC Funeral Rule, funeral homes must give price information by telephone and a written General Price List when you visit in person. Federal law does not require them to send the list by mail or email. You can select individual goods and services and use a casket purchased elsewhere.

What Families Say
“Palmer Funeral Homes offers a great selection for pet burials and cremation. Unfortunately, I had to utilize their services for the death of a beloved family pet, but the people there were very compassionate and helpful during our difficult time. I thought the prices for everything was reasonable and everything we ordered was ready the very next day. They also sent us a beautiful letter that discussed the Rainbow Bridge 🌈 that made me tear up again as I read it. Also, we were able to customize our urn and it turned out really great. Thank you again to everyone at Palmers funeral home. 🙏❤️”

“Palmer Funeral Home went up and beyond this family's expectations. This funeral home helped us in every step of our planning including referring us to a very inexpensive but nice place to have our after gathering of our family who had come all the way from WI to be with us to bury our beloved poppa. They did not mind the many phone calls and answered every question we had. They even let us spend time with our poppa before he was cremated which was awesome for us and our mom to be able to see him at peace and to say our final farewell of his body, his person he was. They also helped us with the service and unbeknownst to me, I was presented with a flag because of my poppas service record. I highly recommend this funeral home to everyone for their compassion, respect and the quiet way in which everything was done. Thank you from me and my family.”
