You're not expected to know this. These questions help you compare and avoid surprises.
“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
This means they bill the insurance company directly. You don't pay thousands upfront and wait to be reimbursed.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
The FTC Funeral Rule protects you. Every funeral home must provide an itemized General Price List if you ask — in person or over the phone. You are never required to buy a package and can choose services individually. You also have the right to use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“The best service, care, experience, and support I could ask for when having to make arrangements and go through this heartbreaking time to say goodbye to my husband. Lupe, Carlos, and Anthony truly helped make this process smooth, they payed close attention to every question, concern, and desire. They were so patient, understanding, sensitive, organized, and sympathetic. The chapel setup to view my husband was beautiful and private. They took very good care of my husband’s body and was so beautiful and peaceful. They helped me with his finger print and remains for jewelry. The memorial garden where we did the inurnment was also peaceful, beautiful, clean, and well done. The staff on site were so respectful, patient, and careful with the stone enclosure. They were greatly accommodating and helped me through every step of this experience for my husband. I would recommend them for your loved one. Thank you Sunset Memorial Gardens. Sincerely, Joann Burgos”

“My wife and I decided that in 2026, we would make our final arrangements so that it was planned hopefully well in advance of need. I am the primary researcher and thought the project would take some time but it did not. In late December, I decided to begin my search because I expected some year-end Price breaks. Through the use of AI, specifically the Amazon Alexa plus, I was able to quickly narrow down a potential source of turnkey providers of burial plots, services and arrangements. From there, I focused first and ended up staying with Sunset Memory Gardens based on their 4.5 yelp review. I find yelpers to be rather scrutinizing in their reviews which means they're tough. I contacted SMG, Anthony Fiacco, and provided him with what I wanted in a turn key service from departure location through to burial including Mation, earn, on Location Memorial, transportation. The highest cost item was the burial plot. Skipping all the analysis and contracting, I felt that after checking with other providers that SMG was the best turn key provider of quality service services for end of life and long-term residence. They do it all themselves from pick up through cremation through memorial service and evening assisting you in arranging Your preferred clergy. They print prayer cards, a digital photo board and offer tranquil well maintained grounds for burial. Anthony's objective was to meet all of our needs and he did so with flying colors. I can without reservation recommend Sunset Memory Gardens in Vanessa Florida for end of life Services,.”

“I had a great experience with a recent visit. I met Drew at veterans park I was having some issues with survivor benefits with the VA and Drew took time to help me with the paperwork. He then invited me to a seminar he was giving for death benefits. The Seminar was amazing and when I start getting my VA benefits again I am going to use Drew to help pre-plan my funeral. Sunset memory gardens cares about the community and they employ great guys like Drew to help out our veterans it is hard to find a company that truly cares along with employees that go above and beyond to help. Keep it up guys and Thank you so much”
