You're not expected to know this. These questions help you compare and avoid surprises.
“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
This means they bill the insurance company directly. You don't pay thousands upfront and wait to be reimbursed.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
The FTC Funeral Rule protects you. Every funeral home must provide an itemized General Price List if you ask — in person or over the phone. You are never required to buy a package and can choose services individually. You also have the right to use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“I was very disappointed in this florist Xavier flower shop, Fall River, Massachusetts. I will never order flowers from them again. Ist of all I ordered them to be delivered for November 26th and not the 27th. The flowers were delivered to the wrong address, the driver wasn't paying attention at all. Delivery driver obviously didn't care where they got delivered and the person that was supposed to receive them has already left her residence to spend Thanksgiving with family. This is unexceptable. Not professional at all. $100.00 later.... Rose petals fell off 2 roses immediately. I will not recommend this florist to anyone Thanks for nothing John Costa”

“My best friend became a grandmother for the 1st time. I ordered flowers through an on-line floral company. I'm including pictures of what was ordered vs. what was delivered. The bouquet that was delivered says NOTHING relatable to a new baby bouquet. Why put a bunch of cactii in a new baby arrangement. Very dissatisfied!”

“If I could give this florist 0 stars, I would. I had flowers delivered for a work friend who just lost her father. I wanted to cheer her up and make her smile, so I ordered an arrangement from 1800FLOWERS (picture attached). The arrangement that was delivered (picture attached) was boring, sad, and absolutely nothing like what I ordered. I spent over $80 and they sent me maybe $30 with of materials. Awful! I emailed them and asked to bring it back or to get just a partial refund, but of course, got no response. I completely understand that arrangements need to be modified based on the season and what is in stock, but this was just awful! Shame on whoever made this! They should have contacted me to let me know they didn’t have even close to what I ordered or they should not have taken the order. Something! I was sad for my friend and upset that my money was completely wasted.”
