One grieving father shared in a Facebook post that he was told his baby girl had been cremated. However, he said the man claiming to be a funeral director gave him an unusually large amount of ashes—at no cost. The father is now thinking to themself: Are these really my baby’s ashes, or someone else’s? Another family said they were scheduled to hold a funeral service this Friday through Camelot. Because of the alleged misconduct and delays, they were informed the body is now necrotic, leaving them no choice but to cancel the viewing and proceed with a cremation instead. The family says they were robbed of their final goodbye. Following the revelations, other families are now scrambling to determine whether their loved ones were properly handled while under “Camelot’s” care. Some are questioning what will happen to prepaid funeral arrangements made through the alleged phony director. One resident told us she had recently made a payment toward a funeral arrangement but was able to cancel the check because it had not yet been cashed. She was advised to stop all payments immediately and contact authorities. Another nearby resident said the scandal finally explained what they witnessed over the weekend. “This explains all the medical examiner vans outside on Saturday,” she said. “They were removing bodies.” According to sources, Mount Vernon police and state officials were seen at Camelot last Friday. We are told approximately 12 bodies were removed from the facility and transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office. Some of the remains were reportedly in a necrotic state, forcing families to abandon plans for viewings and traditional services. For many, the pain is immeasurable. Families say they had already purchased burial clothing and prepared final moments of farewell—plans now shattered. The alleged phony funeral director, who sources say is from Brooklyn, was arrested. “I would’ve given them a 10 stars in the beginning because of the professionalism Michael showed me during my time of need. He literally was a life saver that was until time went on. The services it self was ok I wasn’t happy with my fathers overall appearance he looked very rushed. On top of them arriving at the church 50 mins later than the actual services. So we finally get that out the way it’s time for cremation. Oh I forgot my pops passed in July I’m currently as I’m typing this still waiting for my father’s remains. Everyday I’m being told by Michael that he is coming we are in October why is this still a conversation. I’m at my end of being nice and patient I WANT MY FATHER WHO DOES THIS TO PEOPLE IN TIMES LIKE THIS… please avoid the drama with this place..”

“Beware! I typically only write reviews if I am satisfied, but I feel it is necessary to warn potential clients about this funeral home. They took a deposit from my family and then received the full amount from the deceased life insurance policy and have refused to refund us the difference of several thousand dollars. The funeral itself was nicely executed, but that does not excuse not reimbursing us the difference. It has been a year of me reaching out via email and phone. They (Michael and Andy) have gone no contact at this point, ignoring my attempts to have those funds returned to my family. It is terrible to take advantage of families when managing the death of a family member. I am happy there are others who have not experienced this situation with Michael and Andy, but please do not downplay what my family and if you read the reviews, other families have gone through with this funeral home. Make sure if you give a deposit and are paying the balance with life insurance, that the forms that will be going to the life insurance company only show the difference. If Michael and Andy receive the full amount, you will most likely not receive your reimbursement. We trusted them, so heed my warning.”
