You're not expected to know this. These questions help you compare and avoid surprises.
“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
This means they bill the insurance company directly. You don't pay thousands upfront and wait to be reimbursed.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
The FTC Funeral Rule protects you. Every funeral home must provide an itemized General Price List if you ask — in person or over the phone. You are never required to buy a package and can choose services individually. You also have the right to use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“Grace Funeral Home staff was very knowledgeable, compassionate understanding, and so kind and helpful from beginning to end during this difficult time dealing with the loss of my mother. Thank you so much, Joy”

“Thank you to Director Lori, Teresa, and many others, who helped make my brother’s passing just a bit easier. From set up to the lowering of the coffin, their seamless attention to detail and keeping us all on track cannot be understated. The wake was beautifully set up and the grave side service was executed perfectly. The package that was purchased included a blanket that was magnificently designed and we were given crucifixes to commemorate and honor the life of my brother. I was able to compile a Spotify list of my own and with collaboration from the other siblings and my husband. The unexpected up lighting over the casket provided a great comfort and a homey atmosphere along with the music. We went over the time but we’re not pressured in anyway to hurry up. Thank you for all that you do. Being there at the end of life is an integral part of any community. Thank you for a job well done!”

“We used Grace for both my parent's funerals, they prepaid, or I would have gone elsewhere for my mom's. My father decided to go with them because he went to school with one of the employees. I will tell anyone that will listen NOT to use Grace. I left a glowing review after my father's funeral but then edited it however, for some reason it still gave them five stars. If I could give zero I would. They left my father's military medals, military hats and signs I had made for each of the ships he had served on inside his casket. I was told the day of the funeral that I would receive those at burial. Burial was two weeks later at a Veterans Cemetary, when I asked for them at the grave side service, I was told I should have received them the day of the funeral. My father passed in 2023 and my mom in 2024 however, her service was in January of 2025. After the issues with my father's funeral, they ghosted me and would not return calls, so I physically went in, the funeral director that worked with me never spoke to me and they did not try to resolve the issues. I had to handle my mom's funeral preparations long distance and then arrived the day before the funeral for last minute things. Upon arrival I discovered they had printed her programs with red roses when I had asked for as pink as possible. The office manager was incredibly rude, I honestly could not believe how rude she was. They had a gentleman come in to help address things, he did an okay job. I will be honest he kept hugging me and it was over the top! He told me that I would receive a written apology from the office manager, I did not receive any apology from her! She had the opportunity but never did. I was grateful he did reprint the programs using pink. The office manager kept telling me that red was pink! I realized on Saturday that the funeral home had not put her death certificates in our things, I called and asked them to deliver them to our hotel. I was told I would have to come in, they delivered! After my father's funeral the best part of what Grace offered was the aftercare. But since then, they have stopped using the service and if you want it you have to pay for it yourself. Again, both my parents were prepaid so we should have received the aftercare for both. However, I was told the only option was to pay! I normally try to find something positive to say even when giving a bad review so my positive is that my family pulled together and gave my mom the best sendoff despite Grace!”
