You're not expected to know this. These questions help you compare and avoid surprises.
“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
This means they bill the insurance company directly. You don't pay thousands upfront and wait to be reimbursed.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
The FTC Funeral Rule protects you. Every funeral home must provide an itemized General Price List if you ask — in person or over the phone. You are never required to buy a package and can choose services individually. You also have the right to use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“Things didn't go smoothly. Had to return to the Tualatin Office because not all forms were included when I originally signed. Understandable mistake. Then cremation was delayed b/c the original ID provided turned out to be insufficient. Lastly, death certificates forever! Was told by Crown Tualatin they were held at Clackamas County. I contacted Clackamas Co who stated jold up was w/ State. So, I called the State who stated the Crown Memorial Medical Director had not signed off. Certificates were over 2 weeks late. Unfortunately, I couldn't close out my Mom's apt until I had her death cert (Comcast). It cost us over $100 a day to keep her apt after her death until Comcast canceled her service. All in all (and my only experience with this service) I would not recommend Crown Memorial.”

“During the most painful and vulnerable time—the loss of our dear lover one, we were fortunate enough to have Katelyn as our funeral director. It is impossible to overstate the profound difference her guidance, professionalism, and genuine compassion made in navigating the burial process. From the moment we first met, Katelyn approached every conversation with a perfect blend of empathy and competence. She listened intently to our wishes, ensuring that every detail, no matter how small, was handled with respect and precision. She managed all the complex logistics—she handled the preparation of our loved one seamlessly and efficiently, taking a significant burden off our shoulders. Katelyn never rushed us. She patiently explained every option, providing clarity during a time of emotional fog. Her attention to detail ensured the service was a true reflection of our loved one’s life, creating a beautiful and meaningful farewell. We highly recommend Katelyn Scott to any family in need of a compassionate, organized, and truly exceptional funeral director. She is a credit to her profession and provided us with comfort and dignity when we needed it most. Thank you, Katelyn, for your kindness and unwavering support.”

“If I could leave a zero star review I would . Apparently my dad has been sitting in a cooler at their Tualatin facility since Jan 3,2026 … today is now Jan 27,2026 and finally my brother got ahold of staff where again he was told “we will call you back shortly”.. called and called and called with zero response since his passing or zero calls back after speaking to someone on their “call line” with promises of a return call . My Dad was a US Navy Veteran and THIS IS HOW HE IS TREATED !!! We still have no idea what to even do . How can any family have a memorial or funeral or even grieve when all this is going on … MAKE THIS MAKE SENSE TO ME !!! Do NOT trust this facility with your loved one …. Oh and to top it off they have not even filed his death certificate with the state of Oregon that we also found out today when we presented at our appt with vital records… if anyone else has issues contact the Mortuary board for the state of Oregon and file a complaint !!!”
