You're not expected to know this. These questions help you compare and avoid surprises.
“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
This means they bill the insurance company directly. You don't pay thousands upfront and wait to be reimbursed.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
The FTC Funeral Rule protects you. Every funeral home must provide an itemized General Price List if you ask — in person or over the phone. You are never required to buy a package and can choose services individually. You also have the right to use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“I truly hope that the lady responsible for the bad review was FIRED! With a horrible recommendation and never allowed to work in a funeral home again. I only give one star to this company because of how they treated me when my mother died. Three hours after finding out that my mother was dead in her apartment, I was responsible (being her only child) to follow through with her last wishes. My mother had written up a contract with All Faith Cremation and had set aside money to pay for it. The Sacramento coroner had given all my mom's information to All Faith Cremation to make it less stressful for me to have to repeat it, however when I received the call from them, I was interrogated about advance directives, and whether I was "allowed" to talk about her final wishes. SHE HAD A CONTRACT!!!! (As you would have known if you looked at it, I was on it. The supervisor I talked to the next day pulled the contract up no problem and saw my name on there) instead I was interrogated, told to find another funeral home, and then hung up on. I was thoroughly distraught; I've never had a parent die before and this was an extremely unexpected event. She was only 66. I not only lost my mother but now I was going through more stress. Thankfully the coroner was extremely helpful and understanding and gave me the number for ABC Cremation, they helped me through everything so smoothly and efficiently, they worked with me on payments, they saved me from going crazy. I called the next day to complain to the supervisor about the woman who made the worst night of my life even more unbearable. I was greeted with kind voices and sympathetic words; she was a very kind individual; I only wish that I had talked to her the night before. I’m sorry mom, that I wasn’t able to fulfill your dying wishes. Thats going to weigh on my heart forever.”

“I worked with Rachel from the time my mom entered hospice to dealing with having he remains shipped. She was wonderful - understanding and answering all my questions (and I had a lot). We have no family in the state, so immediate issues were while I was in Sacramento, but all of the after logistics were handled remotely and I really appreciated her understanding and patience. I always got prompt calls back, if I wasn't able to reach her immediately. There are some reviews mentioning the expense. I received a list of all the local mortuaries from UC Davis hospice with prices and once the price shock wore off, All Faith was the least expensive. If I hadn't been prepared with that list, I think my perception would have been different.”

“All Faith Cremation helped me with my mom. It went smoothly and easy. Big thanks to Rachel who handled it for my sister who lives states away and me who lives here. Thank you and happy holidays since this is in December.”
