“My mother passed away unexpectedly last month. The day she died and the days that followed were without a doubt the most painful and agonizing moments of my life. I thought the funeral home director and staff were supposed to make it as easy as possible on the greiving family. That man was absolutely horrible. My mom wanted to be cremated and she did NOT want a funeral or memorial service of any sort. In honor of her wishes I requested exactly that to Mr. Ball and all he must have heard was "no funeral=no money" he became very rude and condecending , even refusing to pick up my mother's body unless we had nearly 3 grand up front. He said payment arrangements were not an option. My sister and I both have good jobs but he didn't even ask. He made us feel like indegents that had no intention or ability to pay. He was very disrespectful, showed no sympathy and offered us no condolences from the gate. I reached out to other communities and found a kind man, Spencer Fox of Fox Funeral home in sweetwater county, who agreed to cremate my mother at half the cost of Balls 3 grand And he even stepped in to handle the correspondence with Ball who became angry when Spencer informed him of our decision.Ball refused to cooperate and didn't show up to release my mom's body(which he originally said he hadn't picked up from the hospital) then refused my sister her right to say goodbye by not allowing her the courtesy to step inside his chapel. So my sister paid her last respects to our mother in a van on the side of the road next to a Taco Time! He told Spencer on the phone "Don't do it! There's no money there." I am in the process of lodging a formal complaint in which I will disclose this unprofessional statement along with all his other heart wrenching comments and quotes. Completely unacceptable and insensitive. That greedy money hungry Fool had no right to put us through that nonsense. I am in touch with the Funeral Consumers Alliance and the Better business Bureau. Oh And by the way.... My mother's cremation was paid off in full in just 17 days.”
