You're not expected to know this. These questions help you compare and avoid surprises.
“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
Ask whether assignment is available for your policy and location, what fees apply, and what you must pay upfront. MedaSynq does not arrange assignments.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
“Do you offer payment plans?”
Many funeral homes allow you to spread the cost over time. Ask about down payments, terms, and financing options.
Know Your Rights
Under the FTC Funeral Rule, funeral homes must give price information by telephone and a written General Price List when you visit in person. Federal law does not require them to send the list by mail or email. You can select individual goods and services and use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“Do NOT use this funeral home. I couldn't even get a call back. Jason is dangerous. He will spread rumors and stalk your social media. It's all about the money!!!! He should be sued. Switch funeral homes. It's not acceptable to mention a complete stranger when they are grieving!!!!!!! He's cleaned up his terrible reviews! He has added to my pain and suffering. He was on a vacation, yet he lied about trying to ever call me. I took my business elsewhere. The other funeral director sat down with me immediately, and eased my anxiety. With all of the funeral homes available, you should choose another. I'm so disgusted by his slander and gossip. I don't even KNOW this man, but he's not a professional. My loved one was just a wad of cash to him. Take a look at how spaced out his reviews are. He's caused more damage 💔 to my heartache. I verbally tell people not to trust their loved ones here, and they're listening. I'm calling 2x. The woman told me he was on vacation yet he never returned a second call, but the LIAR said he did. Greed!!!!!! He is full of it. Here's a tip for Jason. Keep your mouth SHUT if someone decides to pick a different funeral home!!!! Jason should be fired immediately! I can't imagine turning my loved one's body over to him. He's a disgraceful liar to this profession. It's so creepy that he would share anything with anyone about me!!!!! I've seen bad posts here, and they have disappeared!!! I'm not surprised. Golubski has a good reputation. I picked this hole at random. I regret it.”

“My first funeral experience was handled with absolute dignity and professionalism. I was very impressed with kindness and intelligence of Jason Williams. From the first visit of the funeral home to the very last minute at the cemetery everything was taken care of with such kindness, patience and helpfulness that elevated a lot of the stress and anxiety I felt from my loss. Losing a loved one is hard enough and I'm glad that Jason provided me and my family with excellent service, affordable prices and compassion during such a hard time.”
