“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
This means they bill the insurance company directly. You don't pay thousands upfront and wait to be reimbursed.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
The FTC Funeral Rule protects you. Every funeral home must provide an itemized General Price List if you ask — in person or over the phone. You are never required to buy a package and can choose services individually. You also have the right to use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“I wish I could give a less than 1 star, but sadly I can’t. When did Evergreen become such a cruel place? Taking down the tree that was put on that baby’s grave by her family without even contacting anyone in the family to explain what was going on is so far into the realm of cruel. I understand that with new ownership comes new rules, but what would it have hurt to take a little bit of time and care and contact the family before pulling it down and the family having to find out when they went to visit that baby? I can’t imagine how petty, mean and heartless someone has to be in order to do that. If you can’t show grave and compassion then you should not be in charge of a place that houses the earthly remains of people’s loved ones.”

“Terrible place. It’s a shame of the world we live in. Taking down a Christmas tree on a 7month old baby’s grave. This is a way for the family to grieve. That Christmas tree was not bothering no one! You should be ashamed! Have some respect and understanding for people and do better!”

“I can’t believe they removed a Christmas tree from a 7 month old’s grave without contacting the family. It was a beautiful tree that wasn’t bothering anyone. A family already grieving at Christmas, and they showed zero compassion.”
