“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
This means they bill the insurance company directly. You don't pay thousands upfront and wait to be reimbursed.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
The FTC Funeral Rule protects you. Every funeral home must provide an itemized General Price List if you ask — in person or over the phone. You are never required to buy a package and can choose services individually. You also have the right to use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“While long distance away from my family, I was notified by my son, that their father had passed suddenly. Thru tearful phone calls and endless emails, I rested assured that the final details for their family member were taken care of, lessening their burden. I’m very grateful for this business and its care in which they helped us.”

“We were very disappointed with our experience. The funeral director took us to a room where the lights overhead were broken and they had a dimly lit lamp for us to look through a book to pick out items for the ceremony. The funeral director also had to get up and leave the room atleast 5 times because she didn’t have the info she needed for us . She offered no guidance for my 82 year old mom. Mom would ask questions and she would just say it was up to her . The day of the ceremony, the funeral director did not help us , or guide us to get in order or tell us where to stand , so the aisles were blocked and very chaotic , the doors opened at 10 but the service didn’t begin until 11. I spent days gathering pictures for the video and when it was time to start the ceremony, they turned off the video, so no one got to see the pictures unless you were there at 10. No music was played at the beginning as we discussed . Also, we didn’t have a pastor, so the funeral director suggested one of there’s. This guy was terrible , I mean terrible . He never once said anything about my father at all and used our platform to try and convince people to follow him. He basically said we were all going to hell. Not one person in that room enjoyed a word he said. It was very downing and frankly insulting. I know of a couple people who actually got up and left and it was upsetting my mom , he talked preached at us for a good 25 minutes. Then he says the funeral director will come up front . Well, she didn’t come so my brother had to get up and take control and tell what would be happening next . Oh and I forgot to say they never turned on the speakers for the ones in the lobby or side room to hear anyone who got up to speak. The area where they served the lunch was so dark and depressing. I am so upset in my heart that this is the send off we gave my beloved father . I would never recommend this place ever . My mom also prepayed the plots way back in the 70’s and still had to dish out a ton of money ……..”

“Rosedale was professional. They were caring and compassionate to our own individual needs and concerns. They contacted us and communicated clearly with each conversation. I will always remember Kristen Atkins and Adam Painter with appreciation and admiration for how they did their job humbly, with sincerity, and put us at ease in such a sorrowful time in our lives.”
