You're not expected to know this. These questions help you compare and avoid surprises.
“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
This means they bill the insurance company directly. You don't pay thousands upfront and wait to be reimbursed.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
The FTC Funeral Rule protects you. Every funeral home must provide an itemized General Price List if you ask — in person or over the phone. You are never required to buy a package and can choose services individually. You also have the right to use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“Our family has used Beck Memorial Home for many years and have always been very pleased with their service. When my dad was put into Hospice, we were advised to go ahead and make funeral arrangements. Chad from Beck's was so helpful in assisting us in making all the arrangements. He worked with us and told us exactly what we needed to do. Then, on the day dad passed away, the nursing home called Beck's and Casey came immediatly. She helped us thru this difficult time making it so much easier. Casey is so kind and understanding. We highly recommend Beck Memorial Home. Richard and Cheryl Hospelhorn”

“Ken & Kevin took excellent care of my sister and I when planning the services for our father unexpectedly. Ken was honest about the products they had to offer, and went to great lengths to accommodate our last minute decisions - including finding a minister the day before the services. My family has used Beck for all our family members who have passed on and the service and care has always been top notch. Thank you very much for taking some of the stress off by helping us through.”

“For many years I was an admirer and amazed at Beck Memorial Home. It was due to my friend using their service that led me to them, but I never thought that I would be using their service for my own family member and I never thought I would be burying a closer family member. I thought that my child would bury me, instead it was the other way around. I have always been impressed with the professional service that Beck Memorial Home has provided down through the years and how they have been cost effective. I have always had in mind the type of service that I wanted. However, Beck Memorial Home was able to assess me at a reasonable rate and at the same time they did not push me into something I could not afford. What I loved about their service is their professionalism and compassion in our time of need. They were able to ease our minds when asking questions, giving us detailed information about what kinds of services that we had in mind. Everytime, they were able to remedy our concerns right then, they have my utmost respect. I plan to tell everyone about the positive experience that my family and I received, it was excellent service and thanks to them. We realize someone has to do this job. However, it takes talent and the ability to listen to others to accomplish what you do. You have to have empathy for those you work with in order to take care of our dead loved ones and have compassion for the family members as well. I give them my utmost respect for a job well done. I appreciate them and their dedication and loyalty. Beck Memorial Home has reached out to me on several occasions to see how we're coping and to see if we need anything. Knowing someone else cares goes a long way. It’s nice to know that it’s not all about the money, people matter too. My family and I do appreciate their hospitality and loving support. What gives us hope, is knowing that the Bible holds a beautiful promise that we all long for and that is a hope for a resurrection for the righteous and the unrighteous. (John 5:28,29). “Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, and those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment.” This is a promise that the Bible holds out to everyone. This gives us the opportunity to see our loved ones again. However, only through God's kingdom will this be accomplished. Me and my family look forward to the Bible’s reassurance of better times in the near future. Until then, I have received much comfort and support from family, friends and from your kind and thoughtful way that you have cared for me and my family. I thank Ken so much and I hope this letter reaches you safe and warm. Carla Sullivan”
