“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
This means they bill the insurance company directly. You don't pay thousands upfront and wait to be reimbursed.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
The FTC Funeral Rule protects you. Every funeral home must provide an itemized General Price List if you ask — in person or over the phone. You are never required to buy a package and can choose services individually. You also have the right to use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“We just buried my father on 12/11/2025. McAulay Funeral handled all the preparations for this event. It was flawless. Every detail was attended to. Dealing with them at such a delicate time was very comforting, and professional. We as a family appreciate all they did for our father.”

“I am finally able to do this review. I want to say shop no further Scott and Linda are amazing people. My family and I are so grateful for everything they did for my husband's services. When I would worry about something and feel overwhelmed Linda always had an answer. The extra services they offered a special embroidered Sacred Heart of Jesus for inside of the casket was so beautiful. The portrait they had done was amazing and done so well. The job they did on my husband was beyond everyone complimented how good he looked and he had a really tough battle with cancer. Linds lead our pallbearers and our grandchildren perfectly for a very big Catholic mass. She also did an amazing job at the cemetery even gave beautiful spiritual words at the end of the funeral. I want to let you know overall was a very pleasant experience . Need to add the brochures and cards for the church we're also done very nicely .”

“Linda and Scott were wonderful to work with. Our story begins with the passing of my father Kenneth, at the age of 82. Like many people my family was not prepared for such an event. My father did not leave clear direction regarding his wishes and when we first contacted New Options we were still undecided on burial or cremation. Our first contact was with Linda via phone with a simple question - what time do you close and do you have urns in stock. My family wanted to come down to touch and feel urns and caskets before making a decision. It was 4pm and Linda said to come on in. We came down and met with Linda who was very kind to show us options so late in the evening. New Options recently combined two businesses and now offers urns, caskets, and mortuary services. We were just there to look at urns and caskets but Linda informed us they can take care of everything from start to finish and asked if we would like to look at some options. Linda was not pushy and was happy to stay after hours discussing packages with us. We felt very comfortable with Linda and what she had to offer but still needed time to mow over the fine details. We took home paperwork on cremation and burial options as well as in store booklets on casket and urn choices. The next day we called back and setup an appointment to get the cremation process started. Again, Linda was caring and compassionate and walked us through every step. With the help of Linda, Scott, and the rest of the New Options family we coordinated the pickup of my father from the hospital, the cremation, the order of a custom urn we chose and all the fine details that comes with such a decision. I must have called Linda 30 times with questions and each time she answered the phone within 2 rings and she even gave out a 24 hour number for those late night emergency questions. Overall I would highly recommend New Options Funeral Services because of their caring staff, their competitive pricing, and their attention to detail.”
