“Attended the Evergreen Cemetery 2025 Fall Tour on Sunday, November 2. I had driven past the cemetery many times but had never been on the grounds. Working with the Jacksonville History Center, Evergreen Cemetery offered walking tours of some of the most famous of its current residents. History Center members played the parts of three of the residents (Cora Crane, Mary Nolan, and Adrian Pillars) who were dressed in vintage clothing and told the history of their lives. Our History Center guide, Susan, provided the details of the other gravesites we visited as well as historical information about the cemetery. It was a great way to support the cemetery and history society and the $15 ticket was well worth it. Our walking tour lasted approximately 2 hours. I hope they will schedule another tour with different gravesites in the spring.”
