You're not expected to know this. These questions help you compare and avoid surprises.
“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
This means they bill the insurance company directly. You don't pay thousands upfront and wait to be reimbursed.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
The FTC Funeral Rule protects you. Every funeral home must provide an itemized General Price List if you ask — in person or over the phone. You are never required to buy a package and can choose services individually. You also have the right to use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“Glen Eden Memorial Park is a beautiful, peaceful place that’s always well-kept and thoughtfully maintained. The grounds are serene, and the staff are kind, professional, and compassionate. They made a difficult time much easier for our family, handling everything with care and respect. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a dignified and comforting resting place for loved ones.”

“Be aware!! My parents wedding bands were stolen from their niche. The glass was not broken and no finger prints were lifted. When I asked the General manager if they have had problems with thefts, he stated, " Not in years." Thankfully an honest employee informed me a gentleman's wedding band had just been stolen in May of this year, in the same manner. When I asked about cameras, I was lied to again. Truly feels like an inside job. If this is the final resting place of your loved ones, please check on their site. Livonia PD was informed, a report was filed and evidence collected.”

“My family has always used this cemetery for years, but after an incident last week we are done. My grandparents niches were broken into and their wedding bands stolen. The general manager was awful and from his behaviors I believe he is “in” on the theft. He lied to my mom and said there was no thefts in years when just last year 141 bronze markers were stolen, and another woman had her husband’s niches broken into in May this year. He was extremely rude and blaming my mom saying if she would visit more often this would not have happened. He claimed the board denied cameras being added to the cemetery though was discovered it was approved and he did not sign the work order that has been on his desk for 6 months. Do not leave your loved ones here to rest, they will not find any peace.”
