You're not expected to know this. These questions help you compare and avoid surprises.
“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
This means they bill the insurance company directly. You don't pay thousands upfront and wait to be reimbursed.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
The FTC Funeral Rule protects you. Every funeral home must provide an itemized General Price List if you ask — in person or over the phone. You are never required to buy a package and can choose services individually. You also have the right to use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“Amazing Amazing Amazing group of folks!!! It has taken me a little over a week to be able to put this review together. Loosing a pup is hard enough as it is non the less trying to decide what is the appropriate thing to do to keep your loved one close, no one is in there right state of mind in a situation like this so with the help of a friend in our community pointing me in the right direction for our sweet 12 year old Pit Bull Oakley’s remains I was beyond grateful l for Perkins. In my moments of teary eyed sob’s I called Perkins, from the moment someone answered the phone, to the gentleman coming to the house to pick up my Oakley (yes, I said that right. They came to the house), to the morning after with a call from Perkins that Oak was ready and they would bring him back home. I can’t express how amazing this process was and honestly still is. I get to see my boy on his shelf with his paw print, his ash’s, a piece of his fur as a keep sake and the kindest note from the team at Perkins. I will forever urge anyone and everyone to utilize their service. I hope it is many many years before I have to go through these emotions again but I do know one thing, the easiest choice during that time frame will always be Perkins!!! Thanks for everything yall do, God bless each of you that’s have touches my family’s heart! Rest in Peace Oakley Man, we love and miss you dearly!”

“I highly recommend Perkins Goodbye hugs. My mom lost our dog we got when I was still in high-school. Being an active duty family member and unable to be there when our dog passed away they allowed me to handle the payment over the phone when my mom was too upset to handle anything. They allowed me to take care of the hardest parts and were so beyond respectful and handled everything professional and considerably. I am so thankful for everything they did and how wonderful every single member was. Our pets are our family. Thank you all so much!”

“Thank you so much for taking care of my sweet Buttons Ellis. ❤️ He was my best friend. I was so touched by the compassion and detail from Perkins. The keepsakes are so meaningful and help me feel like Buttons is still with me.”
