Questions to Ask When You Call
You're not expected to know this. These questions help you compare and avoid surprises.
“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
Ask whether assignment is available for your policy and location, what fees apply, and what you must pay upfront. MedaSynq does not arrange assignments.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
“Do you offer payment plans?”
Many funeral homes allow you to spread the cost over time. Ask about down payments, terms, and financing options.
Know Your Rights
Under the FTC Funeral Rule, funeral homes must give price information by telephone and a written General Price List when you visit in person. Federal law does not require them to send the list by mail or email. You can select individual goods and services and use a casket purchased elsewhere.

What Families Say
“We have used R.V. Anderson Funeral Home for generations. Their service and attention to detail is excellent. Very kind and compassionate. Our family is always pleased with their care and their services.”
— Linda Walters
“Kitty and the staff at R.V. Anderson are hands down the best people on the planet! I have, sadly, lost 3 family members in 1 year so we spent a lot of time with them and they could not have been more helpful, caring, kind, thoughtful...I could go on and on!! Then 2 years ago I lost my 28 year old daughter and there were some problems but the staff handled everything with professionalism and much-needed calmness!! I can't say enough good things about them but I definitely want to say THANK YOU!! 🥰”
— Christina Tull
“Kittie has always taken care of our family, even when they were located on West Street and Homestead years ago. Recently with the Unexpected death of my husband Brenda had taken care of all of the arrangements and was wonderful there are no words that can express how great she was and how professional and how helpful she was in my worst times I would definitely recommend.”
— Linda Lenz
