“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
This means they bill the insurance company directly. You don't pay thousands upfront and wait to be reimbursed.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
The FTC Funeral Rule protects you. Every funeral home must provide an itemized General Price List if you ask — in person or over the phone. You are never required to buy a package and can choose services individually. You also have the right to use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“This funeral home and the staff are "world class"! Peter Nascerino Moraski is a very caring and compasionate funeral director. He meets the needs of the family's wishes and never pushes anything on them especially in this most sad experience in their lives. He finds a solution to meet the personal needs of each family on an individual bases. I've been to numerous funerals of close friends and public figures. Everyone looks dignified and peaceful not all caked up with maxfactor make up! He serves people of all faiths and is very dedicated and professional. The exterior of the home is beautifully decorated with seasonal flowers and bushes. A water fountain majestically sprays water into the air near the south portico and over the front entrance way is a Romeo and Juliet balcony. The interior of the home is clean,up to date and is richly decorated with many antiques including an electri pipe organ masterly constructed into a wall in the back of one of the viewing parlors. “Losing a loved one is never the right time to write a review, but Hamden Funeral Home, along with Peter and Hillary, truly deserve recognition. After unexpectedly losing our mother, I reached out to Hillary to explain our family's wishes. She made sure I was able to meet with Peter the same day. Even before our meeting, she began working on arrangements to fit our timeline. When I met Peter, I immediately realized he was there for us, ready to do everything he could to make this difficult process as smooth as possible. He guided us through each step with both efficiency and, most importantly, compassion. Peter is the kind of person you meet and instantly recognize as a genuinely kind-hearted soul. I could go on about how wonderful he was, but at a time when life feels overwhelming and full of emotion, the team at Hamden Funeral Home will not add to that burden. Instead, they will take care of everything so you can focus on grieving and being with your family. My family and I can not thank Peter and his team enough for being so great.”

“Hamden Memorial Funeral home knows truly how to take care of their families they support in their time of need. I couldn’t tell you how many times I called with the most simple questions and they took care of my every need. They helped laid to rest, my father, who is very important to me and did it with the utmost respect and grace. Thank you so much for your kind service you gave me and my family.”
