You're not expected to know this. These questions help you compare and avoid surprises.
“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
This means they bill the insurance company directly. You don't pay thousands upfront and wait to be reimbursed.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
“Do you offer payment plans?”
Many funeral homes allow you to spread the cost over time. Ask about down payments, terms, and financing options.
Know Your Rights
The FTC Funeral Rule protects you. Every funeral home must provide an itemized General Price List if you ask — in person or over the phone. You are never required to buy a package and can choose services individually. You also have the right to use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“When my 13 year old Niece passed away suddenly, Mr. Rhodes treated us like family and treated my Niece as his own child. Two short months later my mother died and then he did exactly the same. I recommend them to care for your loved one anytime! THANK YOU!”

“I wish there was an option for 0 stars. You don't want to deal with Mr. Rhodes or his business. He makes such a horrible time even more difficult. My grandfather passed away and he made making arrangements seem like we were inconveniencing him. My grandfather's wife and sisters went to pick out a casket. Mr. Rhodes showed them what caskets to choose from. He was very short with my great aunt's and belittled them while they tried to ask questions. They chose a casket that Mr. Rhodes stated would fit my grandfather. We show up the day of the funeral and my grandfather was not in the casket they picked out. Mr. Rhodes never called to inform our family about this. When we asked he stated that my grandfather didn't fit in the casket which doesn't make sense since they picked from the options that Mr. Rhodes told them to. When it came to the programs, close family went to view my grandfather the day before the funeral and he stated that he never received the obituary or pictures for the programs and stated that this is all last minute. We sent the obituary many days in advance. The obituary that he printed on the program was the incorrect one and was different from what was read at the funeral. I personally sent him the picture we wanted on the front of the program and he confirmed he received it in front of me. He messed that up as well and put two pictures on the front of the program that we did not discuss or want. When we were having the funeral he added a section for mortician comments and got up and spoke at the funeral that we were not informed was going to happen as we only saw the program a few minutes before the funeral started. I've never heard of a mortician speaking at someone's funeral. He was basically trying to promote his business to the people there and me and my family found it very disrespectful. Once we got to the cemetery, we had roses for immediate family to put on the casket. Mr. Rhodes took flowers out of the casket spread that my great aunt's paid for and started handing them to people without our permission. Overall it was a horrible experience and my family deserved better. He has no bedside manner or empathy for people and is only looking for the money. I'm glad I will never have to deal with him ever again and I say don't waste your time or money with this man. Families deserve better! This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had.”

“Len is a disrespectful man. He made disparaging comments at a funeral after a young man made remarks about his mother. The young man's mother was never involved in his life and the fact that the young man said anything positive about her says a lot. Len should have kept his comments to himself and I'll advise everyone to never use this home.”
