“My daughter (38 yrs) died suddenly on December 4, 2025. My son wanted to share his experience with my daughter's cremation at Treasure Coast Seawinds Crematory. The night following the viewing, while lying awake, unable to sleep, I was haunted by the thought of my sister's death. While we were young children, my sister would beg me not to leave her alone. Often sneaking into my room and remaining close to me comforting any fears. It was these thoughts that night of her being alone in her casket that kept me awake and I was wracked with regret and remorse for not having worked towards a better relationship as adults. I felt the urge to be with her remains until their final disposition as a last act of love for her on this earth. The following morning, I desperately reached out to Mr. LaCava who worked with my family to secure an appointment for cremation before my upcoming return to home. Later that week, I arrived at Treasure Coast Seawinds Funeral Home & Crematory for her Cremation. My plans were to merely be on the grounds when she was cremated so that her body did not leave this earth without a loved one nearby. As in life she had a very deep fear of strangers. Having she lived and experienced city life for years she grew to become weary of people often being frightened by those that she did not know which led to an unfortunate paranoia of which she suffered from relentlessly until her death.I arrived early, about an hour and a half before her scheduled cremation and parked at Seawinds across from the front door of the facility. I let the staff know of my intentions of being present, introducing myself as her brother and was met by a very caring staff who helped me on a day that I had no idea how I would ever get through. As if Mr. LaCava was not already a true blessing, it was at this time after expressing my concerns to the director on site of who would be handling my sister’s cremation, that I was introduced to one of the most professional and compassionate individuals that I have ever had the privilege of meeting. Mr. Johnnie Rosado. After exchanging pleasantries, I shared with Mr. Rosado who my sister was, her lifelong accomplishments, her early demise and how she feared being amongst strangers. Mr. Rosado then made sure he was no stranger to me. Providing a brief biography of his past and explaining who he is as a person offering some peace to my concerns, easing my uncertainty and adding some solace to the situation. I then went back to the car and sat with my wife, sobbing uncontrollably as I came to terms with the severity of my loss, having no way to accept the next chapter of my life without my dear sibling. Mr. Rosado must have noticed my sorrow and came outside offering me comfort and it was then that I realized how lucky we were having a man like him show us respect and compassion in such an impossible time. Mr. Rosado notified us of the commencement of the cremation and the approximate time it would end, which helped with my wishes to recite prayers and speak some final words to my sister's body all while being on the grounds so that she wouldn't be alone. I am truly grateful that I somehow found the courage to force myself to be present that day because it was after going there that I realized that she was never alone through the whole process of being handled by your team. Whether it be when she was picked up at the medical examiner's office, carried through the preparation process and embalmed by Anna (Who also accomplished a wonderful and uneasy task) cremated by Johnnie or managed by Joe she was accompanied and guarded by angels clearly doing God's work. My family will be forever grateful for your services and kind staff. There is nothing we can ever do to repay the personnel of Forest Hills or Seawinds other than share our experience and also reach out to the outstretched hand of others as they too experience the certain promise of the grief that comes to all of us who are lucky enough to experience this thing called life.”
