Questions to Ask When You Call
You're not expected to know this. These questions help you compare and avoid surprises.
“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
Ask whether assignment is available for your policy and location, what fees apply, and what you must pay upfront. MedaSynq does not arrange assignments.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
Under the FTC Funeral Rule, funeral homes must give price information by telephone and a written General Price List when you visit in person. Federal law does not require them to send the list by mail or email. You can select individual goods and services and use a casket purchased elsewhere.

What Families Say
“I attended a Lunch and Learn with Alison , and she helped me with my end of life plans. It is a peaceful thing -- my family is free from that obligation. Baldwin Brothers will take good care. I know from experience with my father, my husband and dear people from my church that this company has heart and operates with compassion and clarity.”
— Cindy Borr
“Our experience with Banfield Funeral Home & Crematory was extremely disappointing during an already painful time for our family. The man who assisted us (supposedly the owner) showed little to no empathy and made the entire process feel rushed, cold, and transactional. At no point did we feel supported or treated with the compassion one would expect when arranging services for a loved one. Instead, it felt like we were being hurried through decisions that should have been handled with care and sensitivity. To make matters worse, we were sold an urn that was later found to be unacceptable for underground burial, which caused additional stress and frustration that could have easily been avoided with proper guidance and transparency. Families in grief should never feel pressured, dismissed, or misled. Unfortunately, that was our experience here. I would strongly urge management to address staff training in empathy, communication, and basic professionalism. This is not a business where shortcuts or indifference should ever exist. I would not recommend this funeral home based on our experience.”

“Planing a service after losing my husband unexpectedly the was the hardest thing I've had to do ever, however Greg and the entire Banfield staff gave me comfort and assurance that everything will be taken care of. They were all very patient and attentive to my request for our service. Communication and professionalism is top priority for them all, and that's exactly what I experienced. Greg truly has a calling for this business and I'm grateful he answered it. Dale thank you for loving smile/heart in such a difficult time. Thank you Banfield for your love and support during a difficult time. The service was beautiful and everything I ordered came out gorgeous and was given to me in a timely fashion. I could go on and on about this wonderful establishment. I highly recommend using Banfield Funeral Home. Thank you thank you THANK YOU!!”
