You're not expected to know this. These questions help you compare and avoid surprises.
“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
This means they bill the insurance company directly. You don't pay thousands upfront and wait to be reimbursed.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
The FTC Funeral Rule protects you. Every funeral home must provide an itemized General Price List if you ask — in person or over the phone. You are never required to buy a package and can choose services individually. You also have the right to use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“The staff at Rose Hill were wonderful during the difficult time of mourning over both my mother and subsequently my father. They walked us through all the steps to make a personalized memorial to my parents professionally, compassionately, and made the process easy. The process was drawn out due to shortages of supply in the pandemic, but in particular, Jeanne communicated every step of the way. Thank you so much for taking care of our family.”

“My sister and I worked with an awesome person @ Rose Hill Burial Park to understand options for updating my pops aging VA grave marker. His marker has been in place 30 yrs. It was bent, worn and the concrete underneath was starting to crumble. We weren't entirely sure what could be done. Before departing the cemetery we stopped by the office to sit down to speak with someone. We met the great Jeanne Lowery!! She laid everything out for us to decide which route to go. After a few weeks of deciding what to do, Jeanne's team immediately sprung into action and began working on the restoration for us. Very very pleased and grateful to Jeanne for assisting. My sister and I are super excited with the final outcome. Before and after pics show the work that was performed. Thank you very much! Keep up the good work Jeanne!”

“Purchased 6 properties at Rosehill, we called several times and talked to 2-3 counselors but no one returned our calls for months. The last counselor we communicated was Karl. It has been several months but he never take care our issues. Charged my monthly payment double on June and never credit back as requested. Left a message to the front desk this afternoon to the upper manager, hopefully they will CARE and call us back. So frustrating! Thank you Mrs Christina Chao for calling me back after my review and helping resolve my issues in a short period of time. She is very helpful and professional. Change my review from 1 to 3”
