You're not expected to know this. These questions help you compare and avoid surprises.
“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
This means they bill the insurance company directly. You don't pay thousands upfront and wait to be reimbursed.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
The FTC Funeral Rule protects you. Every funeral home must provide an itemized General Price List if you ask — in person or over the phone. You are never required to buy a package and can choose services individually. You also have the right to use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“Absolutely loved it for my sister's funeral. They did a GREAT job! The only thing I wish they would've disclosed before is that they didn't allow headstones or if you want a bench, it would have to be near a walkway. If you want a bench but your loved one is in the middle of the cemetery anywhere, it would have to be where it is allowed. Other than those 2 things, they did a great job!”

“Deanna and Sarah were very kind and compassionate in helping us with my husband's final arrangements. They made a difficult time easier for all of us and guided us every step of the way. The facilities were beautiful and I would recommend Lincoln Memorial very highly.”

“Way Over priced … we had to wait to visit my husbands mother as they thought it was a “good idea” to have a Turkey Trot run through the cemetery on Thanksgiving Day.. * we prepaid for all of her husband funeral and burial services but we still had to pay for things twice ie: the plaque on the headstone .. all that was needed was his death date but they claimed we HAD to buy a whole new plaque and they couldn’t just add his death date to the plaque that was already paid for?? (They charged us almost double the price the 2nd time around!?!) *charge a few extra hundreds for weekend service which was not mentioned at the time of planning. —- we do not recommend”
