You're not expected to know this. These questions help you compare and avoid surprises.
“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
This means they bill the insurance company directly. You don't pay thousands upfront and wait to be reimbursed.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
The FTC Funeral Rule protects you. Every funeral home must provide an itemized General Price List if you ask — in person or over the phone. You are never required to buy a package and can choose services individually. You also have the right to use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“Months before I needed to meet with a funeral home, I began visiting different ones. From the moment I met Anthony, the funeral director and owner of Signature Memorial, I knew I was placing my trust in the right hands to help with my husband’s final arrangements. Anthony provided clear and detailed information about the process and even took me on cemetery visits. These excursions were time-consuming, but he was patient and allowed me the time I needed to look at all the options. I also met his business partner, Mary, who was equally kind and accommodating. Months later, when I called Anthony to let him know my husband had passed away, he and his team immediately stepped in with the utmost professionalism and dignity. The funeral they organized was one of the most beautiful and meaningful I have ever experienced. Even though my husband had been sick for almost a year, they presented him so peacefully—he looked like himself, simply asleep. I am writing this review because so many of our family and friends, both local and those who traveled in, told us they had never attended a funeral that was handled with such care and excellence. Anthony, Mary, and the entire team at Signature Memorial, thank you for providing truly exceptional service. With gratitude, The Lee Family”

“Losing a loved one is never easy, but during one of the most difficult times in our lives, we were incredibly fortunate to be supported by a funeral service that exemplified grace, compassion, and professionalism in every way. From the very first phone call, we were met with warmth, genuine empathy, and a calm, reassuring presence. The staff took the time to truly listen to our needs and wishes, honoring not just the life that was lost but the deep emotions that came with it. Their approach was never transactional—it was human, heartfelt, and deeply respectful. Every detail, from the arrangement of the service to the smallest personal touches, was handled with the utmost care and integrity. It was clear that this team saw their work not as a business, but as a calling to serve families with dignity and kindness in their time of grief. They made sure that the ceremony reflected the personality and values of our loved one, creating a space filled with meaning, love, and reverence. They were patient, flexible, and compassionate, never rushing us through the process, and always ensuring that we felt supported and understood. In a time of sorrow, they brought comfort. In a moment of uncertainty, they brought clarity and peace of mind. I cannot thank them enough for their unwavering professionalism and heartfelt care. If you are looking for a funeral service that goes far beyond expectations—one that honors life with integrity, treats families with compassion, and approaches every moment with sincere empathy—look no further. They are a blessing during life’s most difficult moments”

I am Highly recommending this company to anyone that needs a funeral to take care one of your loved ones that has Gained their Heavenly Wings! This company took care of my brother and they took care of him like he was one of their family members. They are such an amazing company. From talking with the owner to getting to talk with the staff was so amazingly awesome. Everyone there is so very polite, very friendly and very professional.
