You're not expected to know this. These questions help you compare and avoid surprises.
“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
This means they bill the insurance company directly. You don't pay thousands upfront and wait to be reimbursed.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
The FTC Funeral Rule protects you. Every funeral home must provide an itemized General Price List if you ask — in person or over the phone. You are never required to buy a package and can choose services individually. You also have the right to use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“My parents have been buried there for years now and there seems to be a HUGE ant bid right in front on their Headstone that keeps showing up i have ask the office to put something on it But they tell me it would take about a week before they can because they go in order with there work orders I do understand the work order part but this ant bid keeps coming up and it would only take a few mins to put ant killer down.. I myself and my Husband has been putting out the ant killer out the last few times.... its not that I mind.. But I feel I shouldn't have to especially when I have asked the office several times and its never done.... If I could give 0 stars I would!! They say they maintain the grounds But evidently not ant bids They dont even put an effort into doing anything about it!!!! Crappy service!!!!”

“My husband passed away 5-1/2 months ago. I called about 2 months ago and was informed that a work order had to be prepared in order for my husband's maker and headstone to go into the ground. First: I had no idea that it was my responsibility to call and get a work order. Everything was prepaid. I was told this would be done by Thanksgiving. Second: I called today and was told it would be 2 more weeks before they could pick up his headstone. What, evidently they don't have a regular driver to pick up a headstone as needed. This is the worst irresponsible place to do business. I will NEVER use them again. Please do not respond to this post as it will only show your insincere words.”

“I wish I could give this place zero stars. My child is buried in baby land. Let me start by saying that they do have a sign up stating that they are doing their Spring/Summer clean up. My question is what does that exactly mean? I went and they have removed the flowers from my son’s grave. This place has always had a problem with leaving things on headstones. They have stated they can’t cut grass if there are things left. They would literally pick it up and toss it in the trash out back like our little loved ones didn’t matter. I myself have gone and dig up things that weren’t broken for families. Now they are removing flowers that’s are secured in the vases? When confronted, they kept saying taken it up with the general manager. I have for one, cut grass out there in babyland because it had over grown. I will be sure to dig those pictures out. There are several sites sinking and nothing is being done about it. Bottom line is, if you can avoid this cemetery, please do so. They care nothing about the deceased let alone the family. They are nothing but greedy. Money hungry individuals. I wonder how they are going to fill when the news stations comes out? I’m done playing nice with these people.”
