You're not expected to know this. These questions help you compare and avoid surprises.
“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
This means they bill the insurance company directly. You don't pay thousands upfront and wait to be reimbursed.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
The FTC Funeral Rule protects you. Every funeral home must provide an itemized General Price List if you ask — in person or over the phone. You are never required to buy a package and can choose services individually. You also have the right to use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“Employee Tim Criswell came by for us to do a preneed on my sis n law. He was very polite and knew the job well. I have used Boudreaux before and had no issues. They are a great mortuary. Highly recommend”

“To the staff at Boudreaux Family Mortuary – We wanted to express our sincere gratitude for the respect, kindness, and outstanding job you did in working with our family during the passing of our grandmother. Everything was so beautiful and well-orchestrated, from the program to the decor. I want to send an especially huge THANK YOU to Twyla for making a very difficult time for myself and my family so much easier. Thank you for all the advice and direction you gave to my family and me when organizing all the funeral arrangements. It took a lot of pressure off of us, and the hug we shared…I could feel your love and beautiful spirit; you made me cry harder, darn it! LOL God bless you always my friend! Special thanks to my childhood buddy Paul Boudreaux… your thoughtful and meaningful words at the burial brought light and comfort to me and my family during this difficult time, and we are eternally grateful for that and our family friendship. Each staff member was so kind, attentive, and had patience galore. The limo driver was absolutely wonderful and so very accommodating; he kept us smiling. Thank you for all the great care you took of every one of us, you all are great at what you do, and the organization and caring shined bright! We sincerely appreciate you all and are forever grateful. Not many these days can do a "good" job, but Boudreaux Family Mortuary, thank you for doing a job not just good but GREAT!
