It's as simple as that, except in some cases the staff tends to help the family with details, services, and burial. I have only had to deal with 2 funeral homes, 1 when my dad passed. In that case my mom did the dealing, and her children simply held her hand. The second death was MOM, who's going to do that dealing? It fell to my brother and I, and we were scared, nervous, and clueless. Thankfully he and I convinced her to make pre-arrangements with Carolina Funeral Home a few years ago. That helped to lessen the edge we were feeling greatly. Then our Hospice Nurse came to us, called the funeral home, and from then on, Rick and his team with Carolina Funeral Home, took us by the hand, and never let go.
