You're not expected to know this. These questions help you compare and avoid surprises.
“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
This means they bill the insurance company directly. You don't pay thousands upfront and wait to be reimbursed.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
The FTC Funeral Rule protects you. Every funeral home must provide an itemized General Price List if you ask — in person or over the phone. You are never required to buy a package and can choose services individually. You also have the right to use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“My family is from Seneca. My parents could have chosen closer funeral homes but were so impressed with Holloway’s after seeing how they handled my grandfather’s services, they decided to pre-pay for their services and go with them. I’m glad they did. We’ve now lost both of them and both times we’ve been very pleased working with Holloway’s. Everyone is so nice and caring. Top notch service and so easy to work with.”

“*Warning* Proceed with extreme caution when dealing with this shady funeral home. My family is furious with this funeral home. This is the worst funeral home we have ever dealt with. My brother died in late June and my dad faithfully paid Mr. Holloway over $9,000 cash to facilitate a PRIVATE graveside funeral service because my mother only wanted her choice of family/friends around my brother. Well, even though my dad paid them immediately, this funeral home thought it would be a wise idea to notify certain family members that none of us associate with (for valid reasons). On the day that we were allowed to come view my brother's body at the funeral home, as you can imagine, we were all in a tremendous amount of pain. Our hearts were literally broken. I don't think I have ever cried so much in my entire life. Well, as soon as we left the funeral home, the Holloways decided to notify these evil family members (that I mentioned above) to let them know that we had left and they should come immediately. This is SNEAKY and DECEPTIVE behavior! The people that they had around my brother are known widely in South India and also here in the US for practicing voodoo and black magic. In Indian culture, we don't have wicked spirited people around our deceased loved ones, and that's one of the main reasons why my family requested that the service be PRIVATE. Do you think the Holloways cared about my family's preference? No! Also, my brother was buried July 2, 2021. No gravestone was ever placed at the gravesite even though it was completely paid for in advance. In December 2021 my brother still had no monument placed on his grave. By this time, it was almost Christmas! I had to call Mr. Holloway to request a full refund so that we could go to another funeral home to get the job done. Finally, Mark Brown Funeral Home had the monument delivered to my brother's grave in only 3 weeks. Mark Brown is highly professional and he respects the preferences of families from diverse backgrounds and cultures. The Holloway's could care less about what customers from other cultures prefer. All they are care about is money! Had we had a positive experience with the Holloways, we would have faithfully paid them for future arrangements for many, many years to come. However, due to their LACK of professionalism and loyalty to us, not only will they NEVER get our business, we will never recommend them either. So, if you like funeral homes that are sneaky, deceptive, and only care about money, then this is the perfect funeral home for you!”

“We chose Foggie-Holloway for our late mother services and I couldn’t be more pleased. We are overly satisfied and thankful for the staff. The staff went s above and beyond to give us what we wanted for our mother. If you are looking for a funeral home for your loved one I highly recommend this one. They have everything you need for your loved ones even down to dressing them. We had no issues with communication and they were very friendly, knowledgeable, and most important affordable. During a time of grief they handled everything for me and I couldn’t be more grateful. We are glad we chose this funeral home.”
