“Carter-Taylor-Williams Mortuary Denied Me My Rights and Treated Me With Heartless Neglect My experience with Carter-Taylor-Williams Mortuary, combined with the actions of certain members of my husband’s family, was one of the most painful, humiliating, and emotionally damaging experiences of my life. Despite being my husband’s common-law wife, I was repeatedly ignored and denied the opportunity to participate in decisions regarding his remains. I called multiple times, showed up to the funeral home several times, and scheduled an appointment directly with the director to present proof of my legal status. Instead of listening, the director refused to meet with me, refused to review my documents, and repeatedly avoided me. When I arrived for the appointment, law enforcement was called and I was asked to leave immediately—without ever being allowed to show proof or explain my legal rights. This complete dismissal added unnecessary humiliation and trauma during an already devastating time. The mortuary allowed certain family members to take control, make decisions behind my back, and shut me out. By failing to verify next-of-kin status or review documentation, the mortuary enabled a process that was legally negligent, disrespectful, and emotionally harmful. To make matters worse, the entire process felt rushed and money-driven. Instead of providing compassion, proper guidance, or following legal responsibilities, the mortuary prioritized convenience and profit over humanity and fairness. This was not just poor service. It was heartless, irresponsible, and deeply damaging. I strongly caution anyone considering Carter-Taylor-Williams Mortuary: If you expect professionalism, adherence to next-of-kin rights, compassion, or even basic communication, this mortuary will likely fail you. Their actions, combined with the director’s avoidance and the family’s interference, caused lasting emotional harm. I would not recommend this mortuary to any grieving family. ONLY REASON I GAVE ONE STAR WAS TO BE ABLE TO POST. TRUE RATING -0”
