“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
This means they bill the insurance company directly. You don't pay thousands upfront and wait to be reimbursed.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
The FTC Funeral Rule protects you. Every funeral home must provide an itemized General Price List if you ask — in person or over the phone. You are never required to buy a package and can choose services individually. You also have the right to use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“Jan 11 & 12 we laid my father to rest and wanted to share what an awesome job Grand View did. Employees were very attentive throughout the day and made sure all areas were kept cleaned. I really loved how they displayed some of my father belongings. Grand View made the services very smooth and stress free. Thanks for a wonderful job”

“The price was way to expensive for the burial of my wife. Google search says for the work in Texas we had done, plus we owned her plot, it should've been around $10,000 (rounded figures). The original price was $20,000 however like a good used car sales operation, they stepped out of the room and came up with $15,000. This included a middle of the road casket. After all, the business of burying loved ones is in fact a business, but the act of leaving the office to get a better price, or maybe just drink a cup of coffee all of a sudden the price drops $5,000 is just wrong. edit and updated information. After taking the time to look through some papers from years past, it seems like we had already paid for the opening and closing in the cemetery. It took General Manager Melissa Wright all of 5 minutes to make things good, as I was given a full refund for the opening and closing of the casket plot. They treated me with compassion, honor, and integrity and they get a 5 star review. Alexa Garcia got the ball rolling with Melissa. Luckily I was given a huge discount on a headstone due to an end of year special. My business with them is done as far as immediate blood family, and while I was unhappy earlier, my faith in their business was completely restored.”

“After using them for placement of my parents ashes I felt comfortable making my own arrangements. Pamela explained all steps, showed different options, and was available for any questions. This is never a pleasant experience to think about, but it's given me a sense of peace and know it will make it easier for my family.”
