“Gus Thornhill's Funeral Home cared for my mother after her passing in December 2025. I want to acknowledge how much I appreciate the service of Mr. Calvin and Ms. Howard, in particular, although everyone we encountered provided exceptional service. We first met Mr. Michael who transported my mother from the hospital to the funeral home. He told us he would treat her like a Queen. He did, with so much grace and dignity. I still have the rose he gave me in my car and I think about how much his words touched my heart. Mr. Calvin was the first person we met the next day at Gus Thornhill's. With his welcoming nature, he made us feel at home and at ease with the decisions we were about to make. He made us laugh, which helped to calm my fears. Ms. Howard was also a godsend. For me, it was like she reached out and held my hand through the whole process. She had so much patience in answering all the questions, helping us select the urn and the words on the medallion. She was so helpful in selecting our beautiful cremation jewelry that we will treasure forever. Her favorite phrase is, "I got you" and you really feel like she does. I am so appreciative that my Aunt referred me to Gus Thornhill's because I had no idea where to go. But as I said, the entire staff, from Michael to Nate and QT who watched over us at the Memorial Service, everyone took our hands and guided us through one of the most difficult processes we'd ever been through. And I will surely agree...they got you!!!”

My family and I decided to contact and go to Gus Thornhill Funeral home. The person we spoke with over the phone was not available when we arrived so they had someone else assist us. When I tell you Ferran was such a tremendous blessing during our time of grief. She was so helpful and sweet throughout the entire process from the beginning to the end. Whenever we had any questions about ANYTHING she would make herself available to us and always greeted us with a smile. My family and I would not have made it through without her. There needs to be more compassionate, patient, understanding, kind, and considerate people in this profession just like her. Being this was my younger sister and I first time having to make funeral arrangements ourselves, the experience was SOOOO EASY because of Lamar. He went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. He's Professional and Knowledgeable, he always showed us he Genuinely Cared. To me, that goes along ways and means a whole lot, but most importantly, he made my oldest sister look like the Queen she really was. She look SOOO BEAUTIFUL.
