Questions to Ask When You Call
You're not expected to know this. These questions help you compare and avoid surprises.
“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
Ask whether assignment is available for your policy and location, what fees apply, and what you must pay upfront. MedaSynq does not arrange assignments.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
Under the FTC Funeral Rule, funeral homes must give price information by telephone and a written General Price List when you visit in person. Federal law does not require them to send the list by mail or email. You can select individual goods and services and use a casket purchased elsewhere.

Despite that, the 2 ladies was grieving as well, they had patience, compassion support a sense of professionalism I knew from that point on my sister was in the right hands. No matter how many questions I had they had a answer. I do understand working in a funeral home. You must have patients, and you also gain soul attachments and these ladies was the BEST I will be forever grateful Thank for all your support in this trying times.keep up your great work ladies From the Johnson Family.”

“I had a wonderful experience with Manhattan Funeral Service. I called them on a Wednesday and was able to visit their location that same day to see it in person. The staff were easy to talk to, clearly explained the funeral costs and what was included, and were very understanding of our desire to host the wake as soon as possible. What stood out most to me was how empathetic and caring the staff were while my aunt was grieving the loss of her husband. They embraced and consoled her in a way that felt genuine and heartfelt. Other places we visited felt much more transactional — this warmth really stood out. The team also helped us coordinate flower arrangements and even connected us with a pastor for a prayer service. They were also budget-friendly, which was a huge help for our family. I would highly recommend Manhattan Funeral Service to anyone in need of funeral arrangements. They were honest, compassionate, and consistently responsive by phone and text. Thank you so much for helping our family during our time of need.”
