“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
This means they bill the insurance company directly. You don't pay thousands upfront and wait to be reimbursed.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
The FTC Funeral Rule protects you. Every funeral home must provide an itemized General Price List if you ask — in person or over the phone. You are never required to buy a package and can choose services individually. You also have the right to use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“Doctors and nurses are good especially during the day. Most aids are good. There are a few that like to hide out especially at night and that needs surprise checked to make sure staff is doing good. Food at Good Samaritan has its moments of being bad and other times pretty good. I hate to show this picture of a breakfast tray they gave me one morning but, it was really bad and slimy. I didn’t like how it was and I always try to stay on top of things. Someone needs to always check on their loved ones to make sure they getting the best possible care. Especially if they can’t handle making sure they are getting the best of care.”

“I don't think the hospital deserves all the one star reviews. What I saw was a compassionate team who were working hard to help everyone. I was brought in quickly and shown kindness and respect. Hospitals are busy and no one wants to be there, give the staff some grace.”

“I have nothing positive to say about the "doctor". We had several bad experiences. We were told they needed a stool sample but they never picked it up and when we questioned, the tech said it was not needed. Then the sample remained in the bathroom for hours. Patient asked for water around 9AM it never arrived. Trash in the closet (napkin and utensils). Then to top it off there were roaches crawling on the floor during the night. I can go on but I won't. There were a few good nurses on staff. Aaron V, Hannah M, and Emily L were amazing. My daughter literally said "Emily L save me". Sadly there great work was not enough for me to give a better rating because everything else was so bad.”
