You're not expected to know this. These questions help you compare and avoid surprises.
“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
This means they bill the insurance company directly. You don't pay thousands upfront and wait to be reimbursed.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
The FTC Funeral Rule protects you. Every funeral home must provide an itemized General Price List if you ask — in person or over the phone. You are never required to buy a package and can choose services individually. You also have the right to use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“My brother all of a sudden died overseas in October 2025. During those difficult, uncertain times, and heart wrenching delays with repatriation, Lee's Funeral Home made the process more bearable and secured my brother's cremated remains back to us safely. The funeral director Brian answered all of our questions, gave us assurance, and was empathetic and kind to my family. Suggested a beautiful, well made, marble urn, and Robbie, another funeral director came in the 5th hour to lead our funeral car procession to Canton National Cemetery. My family and I are so grateful and would highly recommend their services, great or small.”

“So very communicative and professional. They made time for us to come in often, ask questions, figure out logistics, and advise us on everything from caskets options, chapel ceremony and funeral burials. Brian (our designated Funeral Director) even helped in connecting us to flower shops and Buddhist experts for our Buddhist funeral. They are experienced in Asian funerals and it helped us lots since we were lost on what to do. Brian was also in charge of preparing our grandmother and did such a wonderful job in transportation, accommodating clothing/possessions, ceremony preparations, and so much more. There was never any hidden fees or misleading information when working with them. In fact, they fulfilled all of our requests despite how far-fetched we thought they were. I know there are a lot of very old reviews giving scathing reviews, but for us Brian and Robert have been wonderful. If I reallyyy had to find a gripe it would be that the chapel they provide had no windows, but it is well lit with many chandlers. The room it self is also very large and can seat many people.”
