“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
This means they bill the insurance company directly. You don't pay thousands upfront and wait to be reimbursed.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
The FTC Funeral Rule protects you. Every funeral home must provide an itemized General Price List if you ask — in person or over the phone. You are never required to buy a package and can choose services individually. You also have the right to use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“Even when you feel your loved one is close to slipping away, when that final hour arrives, , it is still difficult. From the time Dad was transported shortly after his passing to the last minutes at the cemetery burial, Metcalf Bonzo Mortuary offered assistance that was generous, caring and professional. We felt Dad was taken care of with the utmost dignity he would’ve wanted and we felt he deserved. Gabriel was very helpful in offering suggestions, checking in several times to secure decisions, as well as making sure each detail was completed. The photo narrative shown at the viewing was well designed with a pleasing variety of screens and music. As we initially viewed the hearse, we were surprised and pleased to see decals added to the rear window with his name, dates of his life and silhouette of the temple Mom and Dad had been married in….such a nice touch that warmed our hearts. As a family, we would highly recommend Metcalf Bonzo Mortuary to handle one of the most important services of their loved one’s lives.”

“My grandpas funeral was interrupted by sprinklers. The ceremony of the service was completely ruined as we scrambled to avoid the torrents of water. The military honor guard ended up being held on the street. Another funeral going on at the same time at the opposite side of the cemetery did not have sprinklers come on. Their mortuary remembered to request they get turned off. What makes this worse is how the mortuary staff accepts no responsibility for their error. I’m not in the funeral industry but I assume it’s a pretty normal request to not be drenched by sprinklers during a graveside service. Some easy solutions to avoid this seem to be - Call the cemetery and change when the sprinklers will come on - Call the cemetery, find out when the sprinklers come on and NOT have a graveside service at the same time Instead, apparently Metcalf Bonzo Mortuary prefers that every graveside service plays sprinkler Russian roulette and pathetically pretends that there was no way to avoid the situation.”

“Metcalf/Bonzo was amazing to work with from the very beginning. We had some complexity to our from our loss and they help every step one the way and communicated so well throughout. We worked with Brian there and he was truly amazing for our family and guiding us through the process with empathy and care. So grateful for Metcalf Bonzo Mortuary and the great care they provided. I would and have recommend their services over and over again to all my loved ones. Thank you. 🙏🏻”
