You're not expected to know this. These questions help you compare and avoid surprises.
“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
This means they bill the insurance company directly. You don't pay thousands upfront and wait to be reimbursed.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
The FTC Funeral Rule protects you. Every funeral home must provide an itemized General Price List if you ask — in person or over the phone. You are never required to buy a package and can choose services individually. You also have the right to use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“Drew Walker has been a tremendous help with the services we have done. He is well spoken, compassionate and empathetic. My family and I were there for my grandma’s funeral service and then unfortunately we were back 3 months later for my father’s. We knew the first person to call was Drew as he has helped us before. His kindness and compassion is what brought us back to Striklin and we went to him directly as we are familiar and felt comfortable with him. THANK YOU DREW!”

“Our family has entrusted this funeral home with services for our loved ones for many years. Throughout those years, we have always maintained a sense of trust and respect, and never once have we experienced the kind of behavior we recently witnessed. At a recent service, the individual who presented himself as the owner conducted himself in a manner that was both unprofessional and deeply disrespectful to our grieving family. He not only prohibited us from placing flowers and candles—an integral part of our Khmer tradition—but he also raised his voice at us and demanded that we “be quiet” in a way that felt hostile rather than compassionate. Funeral services are meant to provide families with dignity, closure, and respect, particularly in moments of cultural or religious expression. To deny a family the ability to honor their loved one with traditional customs, and to do so in a manner that included yelling at elders and grieving relatives, is unacceptable. This conduct does not align with the standard of care, compassion, or professionalism that is expected of any funeral home. We are uncertain whether there has been a change in ownership or management, but what occurred was unlike anything we have ever experienced in our long history with this establishment. The difference in treatment was stark and disheartening. A funeral is not merely a business transaction—it is one of the most sensitive moments a family can go through. For a director or owner to lack empathy, cultural understanding, and basic respect is beyond disappointing. We share this review not out of anger, but out of a responsibility to inform other families. If you value compassion, respect, and cultural understanding, please reconsider before entrusting your loved one’s services here. We sincerely hope that management reflects on this incident and corrects such behavior so that no other family has to endure what ours did during an already painful time.”

“My mom passed away less than a month ago. A family member referred us to stricklen/snively and specifically to Corina. I am so grateful to the time and effort Corina put into our whole process, we couldn't of made it through without her. She went above and beyond . The place also is beautiful and very hospitable made us comfortable. I highly recommend coming here .Thank you so much Corina and staff for guiding us through moms passing”
