“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
This means they bill the insurance company directly. You don't pay thousands upfront and wait to be reimbursed.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
The FTC Funeral Rule protects you. Every funeral home must provide an itemized General Price List if you ask — in person or over the phone. You are never required to buy a package and can choose services individually. You also have the right to use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“Thank you for handling my stepdad's arrangements for his final internment. Perryman's was very kind, patient, and made this very difficult time for us more manageable. Losing your loved one is the hardest time in your life, Theresia and the staff walked us through it all with compassion, professionalism and understanding. They were all the things you want in your time of need!”

“I had a great uncle pass and when his daughter went up to the casket and began to weep, the funeral director ushered her along. He rushed her from the casket. She had traveled from Texas after taking care of another sick relative and this is how she was treated. Everything was very abrupt. It felt cold and disconnected. What really upset me was as we all got up to view the body for a final time, I turn and see one of the employees behind us, crowding us and the funeral director was stacking the chairs. Everything was rushed and our family wasn't allowed proper time to sit and comfort each other. Very unprofessional and upsetting.”

“We are very grateful for the excellent Service our mother received from Perryman's Mortuary. Although my mother made arrangements with Perryman's Mortuary years in advance, we had a few things to do to complete services. We did not have a clue about planning or organizing the service. Mrs T. Perryman took care of every detail of the beautiful service. Perryman's even offered an After Care service to our family, which was a blessing. Thank you So much, Perryman's Mortuary.”
