“Two years ago when my mom passed and they came for her body, she was almost dropped on the way out of her home. My daughter had to help carry her grandmother after they layed her on the landing of steps going out. We know that this type of thing can happen so when my dad passed recently, we decided to try them again. However, the experience was also disappointing. The man we spoke with knew that my dad was a WW11 veteran and never mentioned that he was eligible to have an honor guard for his funeral. The funeral director are the only ones who can make this request. He never asked for the information regarding my dad's memorial service date, place or time, which now makes it not possible to have this as part of his service. I feel that this was because we chose to write our own obituary. He should have informed us of this when making the arrangements for his cremation. My dad passed at 100 years old and was a WW11 veteran who served under General McArthur. Do some homework before selecting a place that is less than interested in honoring your loved one.”
