Questions to Ask When You Call
You're not expected to know this. These questions help you compare and avoid surprises.
“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
Ask whether assignment is available for your policy and location, what fees apply, and what you must pay upfront. MedaSynq does not arrange assignments.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
Under the FTC Funeral Rule, funeral homes must give price information by telephone and a written General Price List when you visit in person. Federal law does not require them to send the list by mail or email. You can select individual goods and services and use a casket purchased elsewhere.

What Families Say
“So extremely respectful helpful and responsive during the planning process especially with us being states away. Brianne was so incredibly helpful and attentive during the whole planning process, even though she had to leave the office for some prior engagements, she still answered every email and text message promptly. I don't think we would have been able to handle all this as quickly and efficiently as we did without her help. They took great care of our dearly Departed and got him home to us as quickly as possible. If your experiencing a sudden loss or just planning for the inevitable they will make sure you have a seamless experience and take great care in doing so.”

“They refused to allow my mom's family to view her before cremation!! My father who was Not married to my mom ran in and paid for cremation before anyone so they gave him ALL control of what happened with my mother.. Then treated me her son like a piece of garbage 😭😭😭 heartbroken for my mother's family”
— Jonathan Carriger
“My uncle made it clear before he died that he wanted Axelson to handle his cremation, so, when he passed away we contacted Brie immediately. From day one she was kind, compassionate and professional. She even navigated some family-based tensions between my sister and me. Because I live out-of-state, she was able to get the death certificates before I left to go home so I could begin settling his estate. We were able to have visitation but had to delay his memorial service because of Covid. We finally held his service over Labor Day weekend and she handled everything! When we would mention the family doing something, she would say, "Why are you doing that? That's what I'm here for," and then she would do it. The service was short and simple and perfect. As a business I know they're not perfect, but they were perfect for us. Heartfelt thanks to Brie and her entire staff for their help and comfort.”
