You're not expected to know this. These questions help you compare and avoid surprises.
“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
This means they bill the insurance company directly. You don't pay thousands upfront and wait to be reimbursed.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
The FTC Funeral Rule protects you. Every funeral home must provide an itemized General Price List if you ask — in person or over the phone. You are never required to buy a package and can choose services individually. You also have the right to use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“Mr. Johnnie W was outstanding. He is incredibly knowledgeable about car sales and guided me through the entire process with patience and care. I came in with low credit and no money down, and he worked tirelessly to help me find something I felt truly comfortable with. His determination to make sure I left happy meant everything. I highly appreciate him and strongly recommend Johnnie to anyone looking for a vehicle.”

“This is the worst dealership I have ever known. First we buy the truck and it immediately had an issue with the air conditioning, then we had transmission issues, then we came in for a simple service visit and someone in the service department had the bright idea to tell us that it needed and alignment. The truck was fine considering the list of issues prior to this. Well the so called aligned it, and tried to send us away without rotating the tires. So they rotated the tires. We leave here after a half a day, and to our surprise the steering wheel is cocked to the left and the truck pulls to the right. The truck now has a horrible sound on the road. The only good thing about this vehicle was the lack of noise the tires made while riding. We were reluctant to bring it back until we put it on a lift to inspect the undercarriage, and to our surprise the tires are all severely wearing on the inside and look to be cocked out. Today we had an appointment at 10:30 I arrived at 10:15. Two hours later still no update, and about 10-12 people come and go, so I make my way to the service desk to get a status. I was told they were just getting it to the technician that screwed it up initially. So they hadn’t even started it yet WHAT??????? I tell them well I had an appointment the response was so did everyone else. I am flabbergasted that everyone had an appointment at or around 10:30. The wait isn’t the issue the disregard for my time by not at least acknowledging that I’m sitting here waiting. Have the common decency to update your customers periodically. I begged my husband not to purchase this vehicle from these people but they supposedly have new management and aren’t the same Vaden they’ve always been. I personally had an unbelievable experience here about ten years ago (haven’t Ben back since until now) I found a car I wanted and purchased it well I was forced into buying it after a series of events that began with the theft of my cash down payment by the sales guy, and him loaning my vehicle to a customer when it was supposed to be getting ready for delivery to me. Well they refused to give me my 3,000 cash back and forced me into the purchase. I didn’t have a trade I needed a car STAT so I couldn’t afford to fight them in court for my cash down payment. There was a whole investigation that saw me via video get the cash from the bank and hand it off to the salesman. UNBELIEVABLE. Well I’m still waiting 45 minutes since I last spoke to a service representative.”
